Our mission

Yayasan Goodwill International is a registered Indonesian charity which gives multi-year scholarships to many of the brightest and most needy future leaders each year. Students are selected from  2 of Indonesia’s leading public universities; the University of Indonesia (UI) or the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).

Our mission is to provide financial assistance, training, care, resources and advice to young Indonesians. In doing this the Yayasan gives them a  chance to lead and serve their communities and their country and to

- improve their life prospects,
- empower themselves to fulfil their true potential,
- get the best training and/or education possible,
- maintain good health and nutrition,
- establish personal and business values and ethics,
- find a good and rewarding job or vocation after graduation

Over the past ten years, 540 disadvantaged, bright and needy students have been awarded leadership development scholarships, and 74 of these are currently in receipt of a Yayasan Goodwill International Scholarship. To date, 459 students have graduated with degrees in disciplines as diverse as Agriculture, Arabic Studies, Biology, Business & Economics, Communications, Computer Science, Dutch Studies, Engineering, Fisheries & Marine Sciences, Forestry, History, Law, Physics, Political & Social Sciences, Psychology and Public Health; this includes the 34 students who have completed their residencies in Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine.    The Yayasan's first ten years are described here.

Without Yayasan Goodwill International’s scholarship program most would have otherwise had to leave their University before graduating, due to lack of money to pay their fees and to live.  In its second decade Yayasan Goodwill International hopes to grow, and to  continue and grow the programme and thereby  make a positive impact on Indonesian society’s development.

Where there's a will there's a way.

Where there's a Goodwill, there's a good way.
